Transparency and honesty

Britannia Pharmaceuticals Ltd (BPL) firmly believes transparency and honesty are essential in maintaining and upholding confidence in the pharmaceutical industry.

Below is the Methodological Note detailing the approach taken by BPL with regards to the collection and submission of all Transfers of Value (ToVs) to Patient Organisations, International Healthcare Organisations, and members of the public, as mandated in the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) Code of Practice.

Methodological Note

The types of ToVs included are:

  • Sponsorships and payments made for the provision of contracted services paid to Patient Organisations, including services delivered by a Patient Organisation representative.
  • Sponsorships of events and charity grants paid to International Healthcare Organisations.

For each of the above ToVs, the following are in place for each activity/service to be delivered:

  • A clear agreement documenting the arrangements of the activity/service
  • Diligence checks
  • Transparency and disclosure arrangements
  • Data privacy provisions

Reporting period and dates

Disclosures are made annually in respect of each calendar year, for example, 1st January and 31st December 2023. ToVs are disclosed in the year the payments are made.

Currency

All payments disclosed are in the currency in which the payment was made in. i.e. Euros and Great British Pound (GBP)

Data collection

Financial data for each year was reviewed for ToVs made to Patient Organisations, International Healthcare Organisations, and members of the public. The data was cross referenced against records captured by the medical and commercial teams of completed engagements with Patient Organisations, International Healthcare Organisations, and members of the public.

No indirect ToVs have been made to Patient Organisations, International Healthcare Organisations and members of the public.

For members of the public, disclosures are aggregated into patients. Disclosure is not made against individuals. UK payments made to UK Healthcare Professionals and UK Healthcare Organisations can be found using this link.
