Britannia is a fast-paced, dynamic company with strong values and innovative solutions.
We are patient-focussed and committed to developing world-class products – but it is our people who make us what we are.

We are also committed to making Britannia a better place to work. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we believe strongly in making their working life enjoyable, productive and worthwhile.

In recent years we have launched numerous initiatives to improve our working environment – both in our headquarters in Reading, and across our expanding network of international colleagues.

2020 marks the start of our collaboration with Daisy’s Dream, a professional support service which responds to the needs of children and families affected by life threatening illness or bereavement. We are excited to play our part in giving something back to the local community.

In honour of World Parkinson's Day and to raise awareness of the disease, Staff at Britannia Pharmaceuticals have dressed in an item of red clothing in recognition of the Red Tulip, the international icon for Parkinson’s Disease.

We are proud to have raised £3260 for SANE, the mental health charity and got to have a great day out running.

“I joined Britannia four years ago as Senior PV Officer! The reason I like here so much is it keeps surprising you, as I have had many new challenges to keep me motivated within the role. Opportunities come up all the time and this is a business that likes to develop – and promote – from within. I’ve had a lot of different responsibilities here. I managed my own team in Pharmacovigilance for a couple of years now and I enjoyed that a lot. More recently, my role’s been a lot more diverse since I was promoted to Pharmacovigilance Manager and I am really loving it.”

Vaibhav Tiwari, Pharmacovigilance Manager

“The welcome I got when I started working for Britannia was fantastic. The eagerness of everyone, across all departments, to introduce me to the brilliant work Britannia do helped me to settle in immediately and feel part of the team. This was also helped by the Buddying Scheme, which gave me an instant point of contact, and allowed me to freely ask any questions I had about the work environment in the business. The training I received was gradual, which helped me to get to grips with the job role at my own pace, and I was set clear and achievable targets for my probation period, which helped me track my own progress in the role. It is rare that a company can make you feel right at home so quickly”

Will Johnson, Accounts Payable Clerk

"I have been working with Britannia for just under two years as a Financial Accountant and have found it a lovely place to work, due to the team of people I work with and the values and culture of the company overall. From the summer and end of year meetings, volunteering days, value and spot awards to annual wellbeing events, the company takes care of its staff and ensures a good balance is maintained between working and having fun. I have been thoroughly supported through my CIMA Management Accounting studies, getting study leave and invaluable mentoring support from my line manager, particularly during challenging exams such as the Operational Case Study. In addition to studying CIMA, I have found the opportunities for cross-functional working both internally within Britannia, and externally with our affiliates has greatly enriched my day-to-day role and overall job satisfaction."

Fiona McBain, Financial Accountant

“I’ve been with Britannia for almost 18 months now and the thing that stands out most is the amount of opportunities which are available to you. There is the opportunity to develop further within your own specific field through regular training and personal development programs and also the opportunity to work closely with other departments to develop skills in different areas. "

Niall Smith, Medical Information and DMS Team Leader

" I have been with Britannia for 5 years and take the lead on training for the organisation both in the UK and for our International markets. Within this I work closely across different departments in the organisation enabling us to train both existing markets and launch markets through a structured learning programme; something I am proud to say we have developed successfully over my time here. Britannia as an organisation encourages people to work collaboratively on different projects, building on their skills, knowledge and experiences which I believe is key in the development of individuals. Alongside this, the organisation supports people through external learning programmes from a financial perspective, but importantly through the roles of mentors, coaching and protected study time. This is something I have been fortunate to be able to do as I am currently undertaking my diploma in L&D with the CIPD. It has been a huge part of my development in my current role but also for my future career aspirations."

Gareth Beynon, International Training Manager
